I have been trying to get my cameras to stay on longer when triggered. I have messed with, or messed up, all the settings and now I get it to trigger and display a few seconds before the trigger, but I cant keep the recording going long enough.

And another problem is I am not able to record two events close together. Like going out in the back yard to turn off the water will record, but coming back inside will not be captured. Or the only thing captured is the door closing.

Not sure what is the optimum setting for these problems.

Thanks!

@hotbrass You need to increase the BREAK time (on the bottom of the motion tab) Set it to at least 30...default is only 10.
As far as missing motion, your settings must be off. Post a screenshot of your motion AND record tab.
Also, if using direct to disk its important to set your cameras iframe interval to match your FPS or you will miss motion (if the iframe interval is set high, for example on hikvision cameras the default is 50) as blue iris begins recording when the new frame is sent.

Thank you fenderman. I changed the settings and will try it for 24 hours.
