For each of my cameras, I have 2 in Blue Iris. One for continuous recording, the other for motion detection. I do this because I want different settings especially in terms of making sure all motion detection is separated and uploaded to the cloud.
The first is used for continuous recording to disk. There is no motion detection set on it. On this camera I have set 'Limit decoding unless required'.
On my second camera, I use this for the motion detection. I do not have the 'limit decoding unless required' set.
Does anyone see any issues with that? This has significantly reduced my CPU/GPU load.
