In general lower megapixel cameras are generally better in low light..you might find that a 1.3mp camera does better than your 3mp..there are some cameras designed for low light, but are generally more expensive...I have found that the dahua mini domes (2mp is the one i use) is very good in low light as they dont come with an ir cut filter or ir built in..
Thanks fenderman!
I always wondered why some of those lower megapixel cameras was so expensive. I been wanting to try dahua mini domes, this gives me a reason to.
Thanks!
If you want true good low light performance, you need to move away from low end cameras from China. A good start is the Bosch, Samsung & Axis, all three make low light cameras that will blow the Hik & Dahua's away.
