OP and I have each swapped out our 2.8-13mm lenses for 6-22mm, with various limitations.
May be possible with 5231 turret as well, if you're willing to try it...

I'm in the process of doing a video review of the IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E camera. I am planning on using this camera as a dedicated LPR camera but will show the power of the 12x zoom. I should have the video completed by tomorrow.

Anything past about 80% zoom and the Z12 cant seem to focus. A number of threads on it. I have 2

Can you manually focus it? If not then this might indicate why it hasn’t yet been fixed with an update?
I recently replaced the VF lens in one of my 2231's (similar to 5231 turret) and found that the longer lens was not capable of focussing at both ends of the zoom range.
By adjusting how far into the holder I inserted the lens (no threads,) I could make it either focus at closest OR furthest zoom (but never both at the same offset).
I wonder if perhaps tweaking the seating of the lens in the holder like i did might allow for focus at full zoom (perhaps the the expense of focus at close/narrow zoom) ?
Of course that means opening it up and potentially voiding warranty, but may be preferable to a trip back to China. Anyone played with the VF lens seating on their 5231 turret or Bullet?...
