I’ve got an Amcrest ProHD 5X Optical Zoom Outdoor PoE IP Camera Dome, 1080P (1920TVL) 2MP, 164ft Night Vision, Motorized Varifocal Lens 2.7-13.5mm, White (IP2M-856EW) and the zoom in The camera interface has a slider bar For the zoom and focus, unlike the buttons for other PTZs. My question is in Blue Iris is there a way to pick a certain zoom spot because when I click zoom either it’s all the way in or all the way out. Would that also be the same with any motorized vari – focal/ non- PTZ such as Loryta IPC-T2231T-ZS? Searched the forums couldn’t find anything. Thanks

There are presets available in BI for zoom. A varifocal IS NOT a zoom camera but is designed to be set to the needed focal length at installation and, basically, left that way.

For searching use Google, "site:icamtalk.com" followed by your search term. There are lots of threads talking about presets, zoom cameras and varifocal camera.

Roger that I’ll give that a try, thanks. I’ll try the google search thing next time.
