That is almost a straight on side profile of a car and will miss a lot- can you angle the camera to try to better the angle to get plates or relocate the camera to get a better angle.

Agreed^^^^^^^ Also, have you tried a 1/2000 shutter speed at night? I have the exact same camera and I am able to run a 1/2000 shutter speed. Now your situation view may be different and you cannot run a 1/2000 shutter speed.

Drop sharpness to 10. Make at least a 15 point spread between brightness and contrast (contrast the higher number)

You think the shutter at 1000 is ok?
The only way to find out is to try a different speed. No one here can say for sure.

The only thing that anyone can say for sure is that your cam placement is going to really foreshorten the plate. That is why we always state to test a spot BEFORE running cable and mounting the cam.

You could move the cam to here and get less of a foreshortened view. But before you make that permanent, you should test that spot.
