A while back I purchased the ESIP-PTZMINI12X-1080p 2MP Mini PTZ 12x 1080p High Definition Weatherproof IP Security Camera from Nelly's Security and I gotta admit that so far it's been working great. In fact, I liked the camera so much that I purchased another one for my property outside the city. My property outside the city has internet access, so what I did was connect the camera to a router with the intention of being able to control it via Blue Iris on another computer (my server) that's in the city. I have forwarded my RTSP Port 554 on the router outside the city and after typing in the ip address, the RTSP Port number and the username and password, I was able to connect to it on my Blue Iris computer that's in the city. Now, the problem is that when I try to access the PTZ controls remotely (from Blue Iris), they simply won't respond. I've made sure to enable them on Blue Iris itself, so I know that's not what's causing the problem. I also know for a fact that the issue is not with the camera itself, because when I visited the property and tried to access the PTZ controls on the local area network, they worked fine. As such, it appears that something is blocking me from accessing the PTZ controls remotely, although the image itself works fine. Do you guys think that I need to forward some other ports, or is something else a problem here?

Welcome to the forum..yes you are on the right track...you most likely need to forward the http port...if its 80 you may need to change it in the camera to another port as many isp's block 80..the reason why you need to do this is that the 554 rtsp post only streams video...you need http to transmit the commands...
Note: if you change the http port from 80 make sure you change the port in blue iris as well, both in the video tab AND the ptz tab...

In all of my PTZ's, I do not have the RTSP port forwarded and they all work.
