I would like to pre-check recorded video frames I will feed this to OPENALPR (free). I would rather send good frames instead of the raw video frames (cropped). It would also be nice to have front and rear vehicle shot.

I need a program that recognizes a vehicle quickly. It would be great if it's uses CV2. The smaller the better as the rest of the recognition is sent to the APLR system which is working great. 90+ in the middle of the night.YA! Now I want to cut a frame of the vehicle, and feed frames to ALPR that just have a vehicle in the picture. This will increase the ALPR speed and stop it from finding signs in the neighborhood.
There are many roads to travel. If anyone has gone has gone down this road with Python and CV2 can help, that would be great.
