Hey,
another noob here; have a ~7yo analogue CCTV system with DVR but finding the picture quality beyond 6ft next to useless. So taking the recommendation of a work colleague and friend to join on here and seriously look at Dahua/Blue Iris based setup.

I am in IT and happy with networking in general so lookign forward to bringing my system up to date :)

TTFN,
Mac

What is your budget @MacDotCom?
I am aiming around £500 for an inital 2x camera setup, but building up to a 4-6 cam solution;
  • 1x Turret Cam (Dahua 2MP starlight) = £120 ea (?)
  • 1x doorbell cam (TBC) = £80 ea (?)
  • 100m CAT6 cable = £100 (Will probably only need half that, but, you know...)
  • 4TB HDD Drive = £100
  • Blue Iris software licence = £60
  • PC I have a few Xeon and i5 PCs around the place - i'm sure at least one of them will suffice for now.
