Currently running GW Security system with 2 LPR cameras and ~11 bullet/domes. Using their NVR and a secondary usb 20TB backup. One of the LPR cameras failed and the performance of them in general is crap. The backup to the usb drive works until the drive fills, then it won't overwrite the old videos so you need to format.
I'd like to replace the GW stuff with Blue Iris and a new POE + , possibly keeping some of the bullets and domes and then adding a better LPR camera.
I didn't see a 'general' section but I have a general question. Is it possible to get non Chinese or Russian cameras to add to a DIY Blue Iris setup? (Remembering I need at least 1 LPR cameras.) Maybe I'll ditch the whole thing and not use anything GW.
Much more concerned about performance than budget.
For laughs, I've attached a photo of what the GW LP camera does when the license plate is also illuminated by security lights outside of the building. (I took it off my car so I could test some camera/car locations.)
