New to LPR - Thoughts on Speco camera

Hello all,
I purchased a Speco CLPR66B4B on Ebay several months ago.
I paid $41.00 shipped.
Here are the specs:
IP rating IP66
Type: Monochrome
Signal NTSC/PAL
Resolution 550 TV Lines
LEDs = 80
Min Illumination 0 Lux
Electronic Shutter NTSC: 1/60 -1/1000,000s; PAL: 1/50 - 1/100,000s
Lens: 9-22mm Varifocal Auto Iris IR Lens

I now have time to revisit this project and found this forum while looking for LPR software to run on a dedicated laptop.

Question: Will this camera work for a single cam LPR system or am I setting myself up for failure.

Steve, there are a few bigger threads on LPR on the forums here. If you haven't already, I'd read through those and see which cameras folks there are using, as setting up a good LPR system seems pretty finicky, especially at night!
