Is it default settings? Although it is expected with small size sensor and more pixels crammed inside.

Stupid question but can you add a picture of the camera I the first post? How does it look like?

for a 5mp at highest video quality at 8 fps you would need the bitrate around 5700. I am thinking bitrate is set to low unless your FPS is 4 or lower.

Why does the OP say that this is PTZ? This is not a PTZ camera.

I just purchased this same camera (NSC-2P5-PT also known by DS-2CD2F52-IS) very cheap at Nelly's Security. I will mostly likely be running this camera at 3MP / 10 fps so it doesn't overtax my Intel i5-2400 system. I currently have 2 x Dahua IPC-HFW2100 1.3MP @ 10fps, 1 x Amcrest IP2M-841W Camera 2MP @ 10fps.

Can anyone post what video settings work best for this camera in Blue Iris camera properties (make, model, video path and video parms)? Also, what bitrate do you recommend for 3MP in the Hikvision camera settings?

you will have to disable hardware acceleration as it does not work with anything over 1080p on the second gen processors. or run the camera at 1080p.
use hikvion 2cd...

Guys when you gonna understand that more pixels on small size sensor will not bring quality? Compare 4K vs 4K 1/9 inch vs full frame. Same settings. Hikvision vs Sony:
