No audio on downloaded video files

Hi, I can hear the audio on playback but when I download the file from the hikvision browser interface and play it over VLC it has audio

This is the file name "sample video.mp4"

I'd have thought IPCamTalk would be OK with that.
If it's not huge, just a few MB, you could zip it up and attach.

That sample plays audio OK (sounds like maybe an A/C unit) on players other than the VLC 3.0.16 on this Linux PC.
VLC doesn't seem to be able to decode the audio stream.

hmm.. I'm using a mac and I have VLC 3.18.

Does the Mac have a native one built in, for example?

Yeah I guess it's an issue with my VLC player. in built player on mac doesn't support the file but I've tried "wondershare player" and it works

If you wanted to experiment, you could try changing the audio encoder that the camera is configured to use.
I'm assuming there are choices available in the camera audio configuration page in it's web GUI.
