NVR Suggestions

Hi guys,

I'm transitioning from a very basic DVR based system to an IP cam / NVR system.

So far I picked up a couple Hikvision DS-2CD2335-I cameras to try out. Now I'm looking at getting an NVR.

I need to support 8-10 cameras at decently high frame rate and resolution, ease of use when searching recordings is important too.

I already have a POE+ switch in my rack with plenty of open ports so non-POE NVRs are ideal.

Any suggestions or recommendations are greatly appreciated.

juts one thing check that your PoE source can deliver enough power to feed all your cameras.

But what is this DS-2DC2535-I ? could not find this reference on Hikvision web site.

Hi Dodutils,

Its actually the DS-2CD2335-I. I think these are Chinese market cameras with English firmware stuffed on them.

Plenty of POE on tap, I have about 330W still available on the switch.

For less headaches, it's typically best to stick with the same brand NVR as the cameras.
