  • I have a single Hikvision DS-2CD2132-I (running @ 3MP) "lobby cam" monitoring our front lobby.

  • There are two (2) lobby doors:
    1. Door #1 leads to the exterior (outside).
    2. Door #2 opens to the interior of our building.

  • I'd like to mount a tablet device on the interior side of door #2.

  • This tablet would access the single "lobby cam" so that anyone standing on the interior side of lobby door #2 would be able to see who is in the lobby at any given time; in effect it would act as a window into the lobby.

I've recently come to possess a Gen1 WiFi (only) iPad device which I could use for this scheme; it's not very powerful but it would probably do the job. But I would need it to run 24x7.

Does anyone have any ideas for how I might accomplish this functionality? Any and all ideas would be most appreciated!

Below are the specs for my current set-up...

  • i7-3770 3.4ghz | 8GB Ram | Win 8.1 64bit
  • Runs as a dedicated BI4 4.0.3.1 64bit Server
  • BI Runs as a Win service
  • (01) Hikvision DS-2CD2132-I @ 3MP
  • (03) Hikvision DS-2CD2332-I @ 3MP
  • (10) Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I @ 3MP
  • (02) Dahua IPC-HFW3200S @ 2MP
  • (01) ACTi E33 @ 5MP
  • (02) Vivotech FD8136 @ 1MP

You should be able to download the IVMS-4500 app from the App Store onto the iPad (iPad connected to the same network as the camera and connected to power) and view whichever camera you want as long as it's on the same network.
