Question, all cameras run to the barn but I also trench a cat5e To the house. I’m using a NVR4108-8P-4KS2 . Do I install the NVR in barn and use the cat5e for internet from the house ? Or do I install a switch in barn and put the NVR in the house(into a NVR Poe port) ?

Your NVR typically has a fan or two to cool it. The barn might let more dust and bugs into the NVR, depending of course on your setup. I would want an WiFi AP in the barn, which would require a PoE switch in the barn.

What tool did you use to trench?

Looks like a spade doing the trenching? I did same thing to get low voltage to my flagpole for a light.
