Problem with Emails notifications

Good afternoon,

Since 3 days, all email notifications stopped for my 5 cameras Hikvision. The're not the same and not with the same firmware but all was running before well.

All cameras have upnp disabled since few days but email were always running. To connect them in local, i use the IP LAN and from outside, i use OpenVPN. That's work well.

When I try the same email via IVMS4200 on my home computer with W10, i receive the Email Test.
But when I try with the cameras, no Email is coming ....

Do you have some suggestions of what it's going wrong suddenly ?

Hello,

I've send them a message. provider was laposte.net because it accept SSL connexion.
I've tried with a google account with TLS and STARTTL enabled with right port 587 and test mail don't work too . I'me receiving "Test Failed".
I was thinking that due to fact cameras are not more reacheable from outside, it can be normal i'm receiving this message. But on my recipient, i've no mail incoming.
I've checked my receiver adress mail and was already added in my white list the sender...

Re,

I've done some tests and still not working. Is-it possible that due to fact i've disable upnp on camera can cause a trouble ?

Very strange . Now for one camera it run again , the others with same setting "cannot connect to server" ...

@alastairstevenson ,

I think i found the problem. I've done several tests :

- I've enable upnp for one camera : after a while, email notifications are working and test is OK
- I've enable upnp for a second camera : same issue ....

For the others, when i test the email parameters with upnp disable, i receive the message "Fail to connect to server" ....

Problem is due to problem security for older firmawares, i have 2 CN cameras i can not update. Then i disable upnp on each camera and configure a VNP server.
I'm not a specialist of network, but when upnp is disable, i think that when the camera try to connect to smtp server, it receive a public ip ... And then my provider perahps don't accept them . Is it possible ? Do you know with which IP the camera is then known from the provider ?

Edit 1 : or is it possible that the camera alone do a test for email connexion regularly and when it receive no answer it disable the email notification ?

Hello,

Ok after several days, I think that is a firmware problem .
Sometimes it run , sometimes no ... 5.4.5 ... hope it will be an update to have more stability

Hello gpower07,

Did you receive then snapshots too for crossing line detection ? Or just a notification ?

Ok for that I've already my NAS Qnap that send me notifications but only for motion detection and not others like intrusion, crossing line , etc ...

Very strange ... I use the same settings for all cameras . I've checked my router and all is ok . When I do a test mail it's ok or not ... Then some days without changing anything , it work and I'm receiving email notification . Sometimes from 2, one day from 3 cameras , etc ....
I've seen that enabling DHCP on the camera can help . I've to do some tests more

Only one camera work good but it is with 5.2.5 firmware . Cameras with 5.4.5 give me more problems ...

Hello,

Did someone have an idea why for cameras with firmware 5.4.0 or more give those problems with email notification . Are there settings I have to look for. Which test can I do to see exactly what's going wrong ?

I know I cannot downgrade it under 5.4.0. Is someone know perahps which version of 5.4.... is running well ?
