Hi,

I am having some issues using the audio portion of blue iris with my cameras.

On the web server I have several cameras. If i want to listen to the audio from camera 1, I would expect I click on that image, get the live feed, then increase the volume to hear.

When I do this i hear no sounds, when I click again on the matrix image & increase the volume - i seem to hear a bunch of sounds - maybe from all cameras at the same time?

I have tried to mute the volume (or lower it) but I just hear a mix of stuff.

What is the 'right' way to listen?

Thanks,
Rich

When streaming a camera group (matrix image), Blue Iris mixes together the audio from all the cameras in that group. When you click on one and it changes to a single camera, you get the audio from only that camera.

If you are using UI3, you can right-click on the video and choose "Stats for nerds" where you can see several audio-related readouts.

Here is one with no audio stream:

And this is what it can look like when there is audio.

Plus you also get a green speaker icon.

Audio is only available when streaming H.264 video, and of course if you are viewing a single camera that camera must have audio configured correctly in BI.
