    Hi
is they a way to find out who the manufacturer of my cameras is. it is branded as a Qvis PTZIR-IP20A..but it certainly wasn't built by Qvis .. no problem with the camera its a great one but i'm curious who actually built it,

Specs say ONVIF, try running Onvif Device Manager; if it comes back as Qvis, look at the MAC address revealed by ODM, copy it, go here and paste it in, select "Lookup Vendor".

I have an Amcrest that I know is made by Dahua, ODM says nothing but Amcrest, I copied the MAC address and pasted into the above site, selected "Vendor Lookup" and it came back as "Dahua."

    BUT.....

I have an 8 year old Trendnet IP cam that's not ONVIF; I put in the MAC address, got nothing on "Vendor Lookup", selected this time "Lookup MAC address" and it came back "Trendnet".

It's not a sure thing but you might get lucky and know more than you know now.

Huisun is a garbage brand that has high failure rates. Also sold as improx.

Well hopefully mine won't fail to soon so i can get some use out of it. as i'm really impressed with the camera. were i work i have user access to 40 hikvision cameras that were newly installed just over a year ago. 8 of these are ptz cameras around the perimeter of the grounds they look like these
DS-2AE7225TI-A.. daytime viewing mine isn't any better or worse than these its just as crystal clear near or far distance.a but the nigthtime although the hikvision cameras are 30 times zoom mine is 20. over a 300 t0 400 hundred foot distance my camera is better more clear the hikvision cameras seem a bit grainier in complete darkness my camera is more clearer.. but in all fairness to the hikvision cameras it could be because i'm viewing mine on a HD screen the hikvision are on a pc monitor but anyway i'll preper myself for a failure lol,,
