All I am trying to get the camera push notification to work.

My setup is Hikvision NVR but firmware only supports motion detection, however the camera itself does support line crossing and I have set that up in the camera itself and enabled notifications and using hik-connect app.
I use ddns to connect the nvr and can see live view just fine.

So the question is can I get the Camera push notification directly from the camera if the nvr firmware does not support it? Or Do I use the http address of the camera itself and setup a seperate ddns just for the camera ie http 192.168.3.blah:65002 ?

I know the first thing everyone will say is update nvr 7608 firmware but the last time it took 3 months to get it working again due tonthe rubbish firmware.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

There are several threads that discuss this.
DDNS, simply tells your client device your actual ip. Only one device on your network needs to be updating to your ddns provider.

Thanks fenderman, yes 100% understand that. I can access the system from outside my network but that is the NVR and I can see live views, the NVR menus only support motion detection but not line crossing, the camera however supports line crossing. I have set the alert/line crossing on the actual camera , I have turned on push notifications on the phone app. The push notifications is not working. Does the NVR have to support this line crossing function or will the camera simply push the alert via the port forwarded on the NVR itself?
