hello on your recommendation i ordered a dahua NVR5216-16P-4KS2 and (1) HDW5231R-Z
(4)HFW5431Ep-Z from andy at empire. My order arrived but he sent me 2 dahua DHI-4232-4ks2 NVRS instead of 1 NVR5216-16P-4KS2. the one you recommended was POE and the ones he sent are non POE. I have not heard back from andy yet still early. what are the drawbacks to these vs what you recommended. thanks for your time

nayr hasn't been seen on this forum in months.

Andy is likely in bed sleeping at this hour, but should be back in 4-6 hours from now.

I can't really say anything about the NVRs and their differences (aside from what I could read off a spec sheet), as I don't use Dahua NVRs and have no personal experience with them. My best guess is your order got accidentally switched with someone else's. It would be the seller's responsibility to make it right at his own expense, but it is still unfortunate for you because that means more waiting, not to mention the trouble of shipping back the incorrect products.

trapper,

On the bright side, you can now decide if you'd rather have a non-poe nvr. If so, keep the unit. Receiving the wrong version may be a blessing in disguise....

I would also suggest the non poe nvr. Mine is fairly quiet and using a poe switch adds a ton of flexibility you don't get with the poe nvr.

@nayr actually recommended the non poe version which he tried to get but Andy sent him the poe version instead.
