Hi Guys,
I know there is the Hikvision DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZS/P with its ANPR but it's over my budget.

I don't need any software to read or recognise the number plate, but I would like to be able to read it myself if possible. Is there a recommended camera and/or configuration to specialise in being able to read the number plate at night? I know its a tricky case

Thanks

Why not just get a regular varifocal and adjust the settings? I have a regular (not low light) Hik varifocal that I use for LPR which works great. Just need to adjust the settings properly.

Thanks Mike. I wondered about that. Doesn't it need a faster frame rate? My understanding is that was the main factor?
Not sure why they are so much more expensive!!

What about the settings then for night-time license plates?

I have mine set to 6 fps and I Frame of 6. My exposure is 1/2000 and it captures plates during the day and at night.

If someone has better settings then please chime in.

Thanks again Mike. Out of interest what are your other settings? Do you turn off IR? Bright reductions? Could you share the other settings?
