BI Machine:
DELL OptiPlex 7040 SFF
BI CPU Usage varies from 14% up to 32% while viewing.

I tried to install the recommended Intel Driver (win64_154518.4664.exe) for my i5-6500 and I get the following error.

Intel-HA Driver.jpg

So I did some searching and found a couple of updated drivers. Off DELL's driver website
dch_win64_25.20.100.6444.exe
dch_win64_25.20.100.6471.exe
dch_win64_25.20.100.6519.exe

Wondering if anyone is running any of the above 3 drivers?
Currently running 23.20.16.4937

Did you try to enter your service tag and search for updated drivers?

Same thing happened to me - cpu utilization of BI process rises up to 100%
I just purchased a used Dell on eBay with a i7-6700 and what worked for me was downloading the zip file of 4664, then running the setup from there. The exe file for 4664 was giving me the "The driver being used is not validated for this computer" error but the setup file in the zip worked fine. New system running steady under 20% now on BI 4.8.4.7.

If you google you will find ways around this. However, I recommend performing a CLEAN install of windows using the MS media creation tool. This will allow you to install any driver. The dell image is limiting you. A true clean install is the best thing you can do to ensure smooth sailing.

@Mike ,
Thank you, it still gave me the same error, so I did a manual install of the driver.
So far BI has been sitting at 5% to 11%

@c hris527,
Yes, that is why I have 3 other drivers listed above as those are what DELL has on their site as recommended drivers.

@fenderman,
I never use the manufactures install, hate all the bloatware they add.

This is a clean install, using MS media creation tool. I even try to remove any MS garbage that is installed, as well as disable useless scheduled tasks.

Sounds like you did your due diligence. Possibly a bios update ?
