Review of Reolink youtube video by Home Tech DIY ..

I am capturing the images set yotube to "1080p", please see the original video for better resolution modes, as well as note that youtube may not perfectly represent the images captured ..

Cameras Reolink RLK8-800DR

" .. here at night with my house lights on .. "

".. and the details are great, the license plate is reflecting light .. " ( do not expect to get a license plate capture in IR mode with the same camera you get other images .. you need to tune the camera just to get a good plate image in IR mode at night .. )

Notice .. the subject has stopped for this image capture .. thus why the image looks clear .. once he moves you will see significant blur

Now with house lights off ..

1662947662477.png

once the subject stops to wave, his body is more clearly captured ..

" .. again great detail perfect image.. " ( I suspect reviews would not know great detail if it bit them in the rear .. )

At least those images are better than the invisible man from his reolink PTZ video LOL

Albeit his " .. again great detail perfect image.. " is a horrible example of a good image LOL.

The invisible man, where can he be. Thank goodness he is carrying around a reflective plate to see where he is LOL (hint - the person is literally in the middle of the image at the end of the fence)

I've seen better images on an episode of ghost hunters :lmao:

Knowing that these are objectively worse than Dahua's line, this isn't THAT much different than a 5442 at <15ft.

Show us the comparisons .. @DidyouDahua

So far, what I have seen there are absolute differences in image capture quality ...

In that case, you obviously haven't dialed in the 5442 to your field of view and are operating at auto/default settings or you hung it up too high, or you are a reolink troll LOL :lmao:

Just an honest observation. I've dialed in the 5442s to look great for my circumstance. The REO's aint bad the for cash. For 90 dollars you can get say >90% better IR photos with a 5442, But I am helping my friend get her POE system going, and it's her take as well. I own the 5442s and I can atleast respect her point. It's no so much better that she will part with her money.
But for $90 you could purchase an Amcrest that would perform better than the reo's and at least be able to actually set shutter and the camera adhere to it, unlike the reo that is programmed to favor a bright static image over motion quality.

I have an old 8MP Swann Bullet camera ( Hikvision OEM ) I got from Swann as old inventory ( they were switching to a new OEM ) that has a 1/2.5" sensor that I paid $50-60 for that beats the Reolinks Day or Night ..

I don't know about that 5442/Reolink comparison. I can see the hair on a fox at 30 feet while he's trotting at night with a 5442. A Reolink might not even see the fox in the first pace. You need to do some serious tuning, not just guess and say "that looks good".
