I am switching my old router that I converted into a repeater for a newer one and my question is, can I convert the new one on one computer then move it to the computer I will use it on and have it work without having to change anything?

what do you mean by " convert the new one"?
if by moving, are you staying in the same building/house, Local network.....?

Yes I am making a TP Link router work as a repeater. I want to use it on one PC in my house to do that, and then move it to another PC in my house where it will stay.

By "repeater" is your intended use is to move it to that other PC to give it wireless capability via its Ethernet port?
If so, the correct term is "client" or "client bridge", that's how it would be configured and if that's your plan, then "yes", you could do that.
For the converted router I would suggest a static IP in the same subnet as the router supplying your Internet but outside of that router's DHCP pool.
