Hi everyone, just updated to Safari 12 and it looks like the plugin no longer works, meaning no viewing video anymore! :/

I have been using WebVideoPlugin V3.0.6.23 build20180123.pkg

What’s New in Safari - Apple Developer

  • Support for developer-signed .safariextz Safari Extensions in Safari 12 on macOS has been removed. They no longer appear in Safari preferences and cannot be enabled. On first launch users will receive a warning notification and these extension will not load.
It looks like we are out of luck until Hikvision updates their plugin/extension?

Does anyone have any suggestions or workarounds? I can always use a Virtual Machine with Windows but wouldn't mind a different browser in Mac that can still use the extensions.

Maybe there is another extension in the store that will work for Hikvision web UI?

Doesn't look like they have Mac version - any other browsers known to work?

I had same problem with Safari 12. seems they don't allow plugin any more. Someone on another site suggested SeaMonkey browser from Mozilla. I tried it and it works great.

Here is link to their download site.

SeaMonkey seems to work with NVR 7604NI (firmware v3.4.98 build 171121) but not directly with Turret DS-2CD2325FWD-I (firmware v5.5.61 build 180718). With turret there is also some menus missing at webpage, no Playback and Picture section, only Live View and Configuration.

Thanks loads for this - I freaked a little after I installed Safari 12.0 today. Sea Monkey works great and if you set it up to restore the last session and let it save passwords to both the NVR and the all the cams as tabs when you re-open in the browser it will auto-enter the passwords and automatically open everything without having to redo the passwords. Really cool as a stand-alone NVR web interface for my home setup. If it doesn't work at first reinstall the newest Hikvision Web Components from Hikvision Europe and it will. Thanks again!

Safari is broken for me as well. Downloaded SeaMonkey and it works just fine. Thanks!

In addition to Sea Monkey, I also have parallels running Windows and that way I can still load the old IE.

SeaMonkey is just "okay" it's not the best but it does work.
However; iVMS-4200 still functions without any issues, including in Mojave.

Hikvision iVMS-4200 V1.02.05.02 For Mac (NEW!)
- Spec of iVMS-4200 for MAC_V1.02.05.02.pdf
- User Manual of iVMS-4200 for Mac_V1.02.05.02.pdf
- Download Hikvision iVMS-4200 V1.02.05.02 For Mac (NEW!)

Hope this helps.

Sorry.. did you say iVMS-4200 works with the latest macOS "mojave"? I keep getting bugged to upgrade to Mojave on my mac, and my version 1.02.05.02 seems to run as 32 bit, which I thought would not work in Mojave (all 64bit?)? Has anyone confirmed if iVMS works in this new OS?

I just saw this thread and gave iVMS-4200 a try, and I can confirm that it works with Mojave! Thanks to Sunny Matthew for mentioning iVMS-4200!
