@SJGUSMC217, I was on the CGN35 when we commissioned the phalanx in early 80s. The stops were not set right and during dry run trials, they tracked the target right past the bridge! There would have been dozens of dead sailors if this was live! On the live trials, it was so sensitive, that it took out a flock of seagulls! I was reminded of this when I watched Amazons "tomorrow war". If thy had more phalanxs, the alien would not have stood a chance.

Fergenheimer, WOW! Glad it was a 'dry' test run! We were taught that it (they as we had a pair of them on the ship) could take out a 5 inch projectile! That is amazing!
