Would it be best to run two Cat6 cables from a PoE switch to provide power for a camera and IR Illuminator which are going to be at the same location? I could use one to directly connect to the RJ45 connection on the camera and the other to an active PoE power over ethernet splitter that would provide the 12v barrel connection and power to the IR Illuminator.

Is there an easier way than this that wouldn't consume two PoE switch ports? Thanks

If you have the cable, the room etc then do it. You can use IPCT's IR Illuminator via POE with something like this to power it https://amzn.to/2Lir4H6
Yes, I bought the IP Cam illuminator and really like it. I have successfully tested using a splitter similar to what you linked and it works great. I'm just trying to see if there's a way to use one Cat6 cable and one PoE port to power both... may not be possible or cost effective though.
