I woke up at on my glider in my lanai at 5:30 AM this morning, hearing constant commotion on the roof above me.
I went outside and looked.
There were about 10 to 15 BLACK VULTURES, above the lanai roof alone, chasing each other. There were more than that on the main roof.
I like wildlife and really don't want to injure any undesirable ones. In this case however I would really like them to hang out elsewhere.
They are like big bullies and keep other more desirable animals away.
So I got out my my 120 decibel boat horn, went into the backyard chase them away with big noise blasts.
Unfortunately, I only succeeded in backing them up about 15 feet, where they all stayed and facing me appeared question me why?
This is the fourth day they stayed.
I researched online how to get rid of them. The answers were: 'Running towards them with Big noise!,
and buy an effigy of them (artificial black vulture) and hang it upside down into the tree.

My wife is opposed to the effigy solution.
Any other ideas anyone?

Have you thought about being a "Pyro Tech" artist? One might then explore various flash compositions.
Potassium perchlorate and some Aluminum powder will help dispel one's current residents!
Either flash, bang or both!

When I lived in Tampa a coworker had a problem with dozens of them roosting on her pool enclosure. Not only
are they loud as @dee points out, but they also vomit frequently. Florida Fish and Wildlife temporarily installed some type of
"pyro tech" device that "fired" at regular intervals. Eventually they moved on, but it was an ordeal. Might be
worth a call to Florida Fish and Wildlife
