Hi guys ive always had a bit of an issue viewing clear on the ivms 4500 app fluent isnt an issue ,i currently have 8 4mp cameras on a HIKVISION DS-7608NI-E2/8P nvr and have 12mb upload speed the frame rate is set to 10 and the quality on highest in the nvr settings ,i was concidering up grading to the Hikvision DS-7616NI-K2/16P for the extra bandwith or would you say my nvr should cope with my cameras and may just need the settings changing thanks in advance

one thing to take into consideration: your NVR supports decoding of up to 6 cameras at 1080p resolution each https://us.hikvision.com/sites/default/files/data_sheet/10381_vsds7600nieseries100115us.pdf(combined total of 12,441,600 pixels). if you're running all 8 cameras at max resolution (4mp) each, then you're exceeding the NVR's decoding capabilities by 17,049,600 pixels. I have the DS-7608NI-K2 with 5 connected cameras (one 4K cam, three 4mp cams, and one 2mp low light cam), and i've dropped the resolution on three of the cameras so as to stay in range of my NVR decoding capability (15,588,800 pixels, my current settings put me at 15,2xx,xxx) and i don't have a problem with clear viewing from the app. You could try setting each of your cameras resolution to 1.3mp or somewhere close and see if that helps. This is the very reason I'm switching to Blue Iris soon, so i can use the highest resolution possible for each camera.

I don't know about most NVR users - but I rarely play back multiple cameras simultaneously, so the decoding ceiling isn't really a problem.
What's more important is the incoming recording bandwidth such that all cameras can operate at their full capability for bit rate and resolution.

This is why I bought the DS-7608NI-I2/8. I not sure if they make this exact model anymore. Also the power available for each camera is very good.
