I am currently using a QNAP NAS as my NVR and overall it is working well, but I am having some issues with motion alarm recording and it does not support any of the IVS features in my Dahua cameras. Because I can't stop tinkering, I have started looking at Dahua NVRs, and I will rationalize the NAS as a network backup of the NVR if I go that route. Plus it's my movie server so there's that.
Shopping around the Dahua site, I believe the Dahua Pro Series 8-Channel 12MP PoE NVR (DHI-NVR52A08-8P-4KS2) would be right for my house since I have six cameras, most of which are PoE and all of which will be PoE soon. B&H sells this NVR diskless for $439.
Anyone have experience with this particular NVR? Thoughts? I searched the forum but only found one passing reference to this particular model.
