It's not for me, but I'm always interested in seeing what Ubiquiti is up to with their Unifi line of cameras/NVR.

They introduced their new Protect camera/NVR system on their blog a few days ago:

Looks like they're hitting on 5 key points:
Usability, Scalability, No Subscription Fees, "No Burden on your Internet bandwidth", and "Completely Private".

They compare the image quality from their smaller $79 G3 Flex to an Axis model, as well as Arlo and Nest.

They also introduced the G4 PRO camera on their Early Access Store.



Looks like it's $449.
