Like a lot of people, I expect, it all started with a baby monitor. Then a neighbors house got broken into. Now I am looking at building out a more extensive monitoring system. I'll likely be using BlueIris and integrating it with my current SmartThings infrastructure. This seems like a very nice forum.

After taking a post-initial-research-break, I just finished some renovations on my house and have started pulling my own low voltage cabling. After testing out a few cameras from AliExpress I'm likely going to build out a more considerable system in the next few weeks.

Low voltage cabling? I hope you're referring to Cat5e or Cat6 cable Andrew.
