v5.2.5 TLS support or upgrade

Hi,
I have a DS-2CD3132F-IWS running firmware v5.2.5.
I have found v5.2.5 does not support TLS email support which I need for gmail notifications.

The language flag is set to 1 however the serial of the unit has CH in it.
DS-2CD3132F-IWS20150805CCCH533******

I assume this camera takes an IPC R0 firmware? and that I need v5.4.x firmware for TLS support?
However because of the chinese serial am I right in thinking I cannot use the multi-language firmware without patching it? or is there a way to modify the hardware serial to an international one to clear the checks?

If it is not possible to upgrade - has anyone managed to add TLS support to v.5.2.5?

I am not connecting this to an NVR so do not need to worry about version mismatch or language code errors - it connects to ispy but I need gmail notifications as a backup.

Alternatively, Does anyone know if I can safely flash a chinese firmware on this with the language flag modified? Or is there a chinese IPC R0 firmware which supports TLS?

But it sounds like you have done the 'MTD hack' on the camera?

The camera was supplied like this. Does this mean I cannot apply a chinese firmware without reversing the MTD hack (assuming this is possible)?

Do you know if 5.3.0 supports TLS?
