View in color record BW with Blue Iris

Is there a way in the Blue Iris software to View in color, but record black and white to save disk space?

The question I would have is does B&W actually use less disk space? I'm not sure that it does but I really have no idea.

Blue Iris can't do this. You'd probably be disappointed by how little difference it would make anyway.

Why would you want to do this in the first place? If you record in B/W and view in Color, then the biggest part of a camera security system would be just gone, as you will not sit in front of the screen all daytime to watch it in color i guess.

Identification of colors on clothing, cars, skin color, eventually tattoo's and so on in daytime would be just impossible.
