I was getting all excited about the $20 720p IP camera but saw it won't do timed FTP transfers and only D1 resolution upon motion trigger.

What I want to do is pole mount a bullet style outdoor camera, feed it power, and have it FTP photos to my WeatherUnderground station during daylight hours.
- don't need IR illumination
- Wifi capable (would rather not have a wired network connection)
- would like 720p or better resolution
- can FTP images on a schedule
- least expensive solution.

I see some Hikvision recommendations but they're pricey.

Anything available in the sub $75 price range?

edit: I just read the WUND faq and FTP images are limited to 150K :( So much for HD.

@AlpineWatch Check your private messages. I'm a big weather geek and love weather and nature photography. I sent you some contact info on someone that I've used that specializes in this.

Hi @wxman,
I have exactly the same requirements as AlpineWatch. We want to install two cameras for our model flying site (www.modelaniationnorthland.co.nz) and send images on a 10 min basis via ftp to our webserver. We have wifi and mobile Internet connection on site and can supply power to our Pole (the weather station is already mounted at that pole)
We have tried a Arduino camera, but that did not work well.

So I would be mostly interested if you could also send me these contact details.

Many thanks
