G'day yall,

I was after some advice - I'm after a newdoorbell which I have POE that runs to a Dahua 4ch NVR. from which I'll be running 3 cams so I'll have a spare port.

My question is - 1. Do I need a doorbell if I use the 5442 - would they work on a trip wire setting that can notify my phone?

Is there a doorbell that will work within the Dahau network / NVR?

Or which is the most friendly (have a strong wifi signal to the door).

Thanks for your input :)

There is not a single doorbell that is any good. I'm surprised, how hard it is to make a good doorbell.
Used DB-11, doesn't play alarm videos.
Yoosee doorbell. Doesn't open app, unless app is running in the background

Hope one day good POE doorell will arrive.
Eufy is another one but due bad experience with DB-11 for wifi connection, not happy to pay another 200+ bucks to try
I have Dahua NVR 16 ch

The NDB313-W has proven the best so far for me. It does NOT have PoE but you are able to use with Dahua NVR with the right firmware and/or use a SD card for playback
and it has pretty good wifi range.
The 5442 will send alerts to your phone but there will be no 2 way talk. You would need a cam with a speaker and mic. like the HDW-5241-H-AS-PV.

There are good doorbells. They are just too expensive for you. For example, axis has an 800 dollar poe doorbell that works well.

Agreed. Should have written with a reasonable price range. The one in the market doesn't require much effort to fix minor issues.

Might have to wait a touch longer. Certainly a gap in the market ;)

Elaborate more.... are you implying there's one in the works soon to be released from yet un-named manufacturer?
