Xbox mic in

Hi all,

Im trying to get sound in to my hickvision cam and after looking through earlier threads and using a xbox mic was recommended I went and bought one. It arrived today and I've taken the arm off and I'm left with two wires , One all copper and the other white.

Being a complete novice can anyone tell me please which wire goes to line and and which to ground? also what settings should i be using on the camera itself?

I've tried wiring it up but can't get no sound out of it just a constant buzz.

I know a few guys on here are using Xbox mic's can anyone help on how to connect it up and settings please? I've only got it temporarily mounted at the minute until I sort the mic then I can permanently install it.
