What is your NVR5208-EI / NVR52XX-XXP-XXX Network Total Bandwidth?

Just want to compare notes with other 5 series AI (WizSense) owners on here about your NVR's total bandwidth. Spec sheet says, "AI Disabled: 384 Mbps...AI Enabled: 200 Mbps...Security Baseline V2.4" Mine shows "Remaining Bandwidth / Total Bandwidth: 220.62 Mbps / 236.00 Mbps with the...

Thank you for explaining that. I really appreciate it.

    Dahua Camera DNS

Will give that a heavy thought. Have read about Merlin a few years back but was a little too iffy about doing the jump. I need time and mental strength to muster up the will to do it since this is a new thing for me. Right now NVR's on time.windows.com and "CAM Time Sync" checked so I can't...

    Israel attacked by Hamas...

Remember this...there will never, ever, be any good solution nor will there ever be any peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I have always stand by this creed since the day I saw the Backstabber grinning and shaking hands with Rabin back in the 90s. I never trusted that man nor anyone with...

    Israel attacked by Hamas...

Because that is where their heart is (the Democrat Party and Hollywood) -- not in Israel. They will only support Israel if the Democrats are in control over there. You ever wonder why Obama tried to influence their election back then and just recently Schumer called for the take down of...

    Dahua Camera DNS

Don't know how to thank you, Mike...but you've made my day! :) I have the AX86U and since it's also an ASUS I just followed your instructions and...VOILA...the WAN door is shut! All four of my cams are now in the slammer. Shall I block the NVR too?

3(or more) PoE switches to one Dahua non-PoE NVR?

I have the NVR5208-EI (non-POE) with the same Virtual Host checkbox that you are talking about. My current setup is...4 cams on an external 8-port 10/100 POE switch with 2 Gigabit uplink ports. One of these ports is connected to the NVR and the other to an ASUS router AX86U. Do I need to check...

What type of UPS...the sine wave ones or the boxy ones will do?

Need help with powering the Reolink RLC-811A

Yep, just learned about that from another thread. Still wondering why Toons and others are livid about the brand, not just the cameras. Back to the switches...these Reolink switches are not proprietary, are they? They will work with other camera brands, right?

Need your feedback for these two Empire NVRs

Is it because of the stigma that comes with the brand or is there something wrong with the switch? Is it proprietary?

Need help with powering the Reolink RLC-811A

Ok now I get the picture why to stay away from Reolink cameras. :) But that does not explain why to avoid the brand altogether. Their RLA-PS1 POE switches got good reviews on Amazon. Is there a reason to avoid them too? Or, is it just the cameras?

Need your feedback for these two Empire NVRs

Noted. Currently I have 4 cams running on the old NVR and I could see myself adding 1 or 2 more depending on what’s going to happen after November. I will be maxing out at 6 and that is it. Right now I’m eyeballing this Netgear GS308PP 8-port Gig 83W Poe budget. Seems to be a perfect fit for...

Need your feedback for these two Empire NVRs

Yep, more is better I understand. But I’m just not comfortable plugging in non-POE devices to ports that are powerered even with auto-sensing. Gives me the hibbie jibbies. BTW, forgot to take that off my list…my apologies. Anyway, these cameras don’t really need gigabit ports, do they? I know...

Need your feedback for these two Empire NVRs

Hello, I'm planning on getting a replacement for my IVS-deprived NVR42A04-P. Fan noise is top priority so any fan in addition to the case fan is a no-no -- not even a Noctua will convince me. Got 4 cams for now (2 interior Amcrest and 2 exterior 5231s) but probably will be adding a couple more...

    Fanless PoE Switch

Two winters ago, I stopped using our centralized AC-heat pump and never regretted since. Use space heater instead especially those parabolic ones. Right now, I’m just waiting for the central unit to die and replace it with just a conventional one. Don’t ever get suckered into buying a heat pump...

Dahua NVR and Camera Setup - Best Practice

I would put Firmware Updates last...”if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”…is the best practice.

dahua NVR just stopped displaying cameras?? how to fix?

Is that an external POE switch or the POE module for the NVR? What model is your NVR, btw?

    Dahuna NVR comparison

So confusing...it's like flipping a myriad of switches just to get the right combination going. You could probably "chart this up" one day, Steve. ;)

    EmpireTech NV41AI-8P-4KH or NVR8CH-AI

    EmpireTech NV41AI-8P-4KH or NVR8CH-AI

Good to know they don't overheat. Even if they do, I have always fought the urge to paint them knowing that these camera bodies served as heatsinks to help dissipate internal heat. At one point, I almost did the worse thing that you could ever do which is dip it in plastic (plasti-dip). Glad I...

    EmpireTech NV41AI-8P-4KH or NVR8CH-AI

Heat wise, would that be worrisome enabling AI on the camera? About this NV41A1-8P-4KH... Is this an international model (non-US market)? What is meant by industrial-grade processor and Security Baseline 2.3? Will this recorder run perimeter intrusion, tripwire, abandoned/missing object when...

Yup. Same as a CPU to a graphics processor. Thanks.

Upgraded Dahua NVR4208 and lost IVS capabilities in NVR

I thought ‘AI‘ is another separate feature with its own set of functions like SMD+. So you can now do AI on the NVR alone with cameras that do not support it? It is my understanding that both the camera and the NVR should have the same feature in order for it to work. BTW, your avatar…I call...

Upgraded Dahua NVR4208 and lost IVS capabilities in NVR

Got 4 of them. Two Amcrest and two Empires. I’m not really into the up to date ones ‘cause I hate anything that has to do with AIs. I just want basic detection (not the motion detection mind you) like perimeter, intrusion, tripwire and the likes.

Upgraded Dahua NVR4208 and lost IVS capabilities in NVR

Okay…so if one wants IVS, the 4xxx series NVRs are therefore not recommended i.e. do not buy? Correct?

DMSS update 30.3.24 and PTZ preset lost

I applaud them for listening and addressing our complaints but giving an incomplete/partial fix is not a reason to celebrate. So the PTZ presets came back but where are the rest of the PTZ menus? Come on. Don't release them piecemeal.

Dahua NVR_4xxx new firmware doesn't support IVS, or what?

Good insight! Wished they explained it to us the way you did plus, most importantly, an apology and perhaps a discount coupon for a replacement would have been in order. I guess this is to be expected from companies doing business on the other side of the ‘curtain’.
