Most home burglaries happen fast. In and out in a few minutes. I doubt if they bother to search for the camera's NVR. If you have a BI server, then it probably looks like a PC, as does mine. Not hidden and actually in a hallway upstairs. But do they really want that with the alarm blaring?
Most enter through front or rear door, which is alarmed at my house. Unless it is well planned, like they drive up in a van and expect to clean out the gun safes, PCs, Playstations, smart TVs, then they are only going to grab jewelry, light small stuff, and then run. Smash and grab. The alarm will make them be quick. May not even go upstairs. That is what happened to me in my home in NOLA back in the 1980's. Did not have an alarm then. Lady across the street saw them, called cops, but they had left already. The biggest things they took were two SLR cameras and a stereo component DVD player. The rest was jewelry and other light, small stuff.
Now if they are determined and know how to defeat the alarm, then all bets are off and they get what they want and the cam system will be worthless anyway.
That is my 2 cents worth anyway.
