The background is now bright enough for me. But the face capture could still use some more tweaking I think. I know it's better than 95% of people have it and who mostly use reolink, ring etc. but I'm a perfectionist and if there is room for improvement, I'm all ears :)

I'm thinking about getting another 5442 from Andy to capture license plates and / or to get a clear shot at a suspect's face (even before he steps foot on my property). Is this doable (day AND night) or do I have to choose between one and the other (right now I can't afford two more cameras)...

I understand. I wanted to buy either dahua or reolink NVR but from what I've heard they don't work with reolink (or dahua) cameras. The main thing I would want from NVR is storage though. Would this also present problems? What about just saving recordings to my pc (or an external hard drive...

I know it's probably not optimal but these are all outdoor cameras - what are they gonna do (even if they hack the cameras) - watch me go to work :lol: All other options (blue iris, ftp...) seem so complicated though. What would you suggest (as I said - even if its not a perfect solution)?

Hi. I now have two overview cameras (reolink) and one 5442 to identify perps. As I'm new to this I decided to start my journey with recording 24/7 to SD cards (san disk high endurance). I read some threads here that some cameras might not like that? Also how many days of recordings can I get on...

Hi. I have a question regarding Andy's 5442 and pfb203w wall bracket I picked up from amazon. Can the camera be turned and screwed in the direction as shown in the pictures? Can only one screw (where the red arrow points) hold the whole camera in place? I apologize for the stupid question...

How do you ground a surge protector if it's indoors? Can I do it by myself or do I have to call an electrician?

From what I have read on the internet it seems like a lot of people don't have any surge protection at all. Is it really necessary then? They also say that if the lightning hits (even in the vicinity of the house) it will fry everything anyway (even the surge protectors) I was thinking about...

Yeah it's kind of pricey...65 feet costs 40€ but hey if it's good I might just take it and be done with it haha
