Dahua IPC-HDW5631R-ZE

Angle of view H:91°~27° , V:58°~18°

Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-AS

Angle of view H: 87° (110°, 51°), V:48° (58°, 30°)

Can some explained the angle of view. The above two are sample of cameras in looking at. Is the angle of view 91 degrees and 87 respectively or 110 for the bottom one. Very confusing.

First of all, ignore the vertical measurements as it simply reflects aspect ratio. Horizonal is what you see from from left to right.
IPC-HDW5631R-ZE is a zoom lens and the H:91-27 reflects the range of the zooms setting.

IPC-HDBW4231F-AS is available in 3 fixed lens lengths. When ordering you have to be careful what the default is, in this case, the middle focal length: 3.6mm fixed lens (2.8mm,6mm optional). The 2.8mm is the widest lens with a 110 angle of view, 3.6mm lens has a 87 angle of view, and 6mm is a telephoto with a 27 angle of view.

Finally, "angle of view" is what is referred to as "field of view" in the rest of the camera world. So if you have a camera, typically DSLR with interchangeable lens, with the similar/equivalent FOV you could use it to guage the coverage requirement. I am not going to go into the whoe sensor/focal lenght FOV conversion - but could if needed. You could also make a very basic viewing instrument with a protractor marking the degrees and left (always zero degrees) and right establishing the viewing limits.
