Why would I choose one vs. the other? They have the same sensor and just slightly different form factor. The wedge has IR LEDs inside the dome, which is probably a bad thing.
My application would be mounting a couple on the ceiling of a covered porch to look at two different sides of the house the porch covers, and I would like something inconspicuous. Distance to cover is no more than 30 feet. I think the wedge could almost be flush mounted by cutting a 4.17" recess in the plywood ceiling and mounting it to a backing plate.
