Hey guys. I am trying to configure my first Hikvision DS-2CD2332-I.

In Live View Mode at the LAN address 192.168.1.118 it says I need the plugin to view.

I download and install plugin and continues to say the same thing.

Is it possible I have something wrong with my port # (800) or HTTP port# (80)

Do I check the box "enable DHCP" in SADP?

I am lost so any advice will help.

@beardog what thepeacockranch said. Also, use IE or Firefox. Seems to have helped me when setting my Hiks up.

Thanks for the tips. I have tried it in Firefox and IE. I have also restarted my computer.

The Camera is connected to an Unmanaged POE Switch which is connected to a non poe switch which is connected to my BI PC and Router.
Is it possible that is the issue?

If you're able to get as far as logging into the correct IP address of that camera, I doubt it's a network issue. Unsure of symptoms at this point. Does it keep prompting to install web components? Does your browser show the log and configuration pages or no?

Got em working. Now I just need to tweek the settings in BI. Oh and hook up the rest of them (5 more). These IP Cams are addictive. Anyone else feel the same way they got their first cam up and running? It feels good.

I'm glad to hear things are working for you now. What was the problem?
You are correct. This is a very addictive area of electronics for me. I read the IP Cameras section here every day to see when the next generations of Huisun and Hikvision will be worthy of my money.

It worked in Firefox. I re-installed Firefox and it worked.

How do you like the Exir Turrets? I have 4 and the only one that came in brown box (hacked Chinese) was the only one that had terrible quality. Otherwise they seem great.

Yeah it can be somewhat of a bear to get a browser and camera going the first time. It's much fun later though~!~ Windows 10 adds another layer of uncertainty also with finding Internet Explorer, allowing plug-ins, etc.
As far as the Hikvision turrets, I will now use those exclusively instead of domes. The bullets are easier for me to mount and aim on the irregular surfaces that we have here on the ranch. Birds and stuff can land on them, however and do cause an issue or 2.
My next cam will be a halfway good PTZ mounted way up high. I've been waiting for the Huisun cams to get a few more of the kinks out.
