House insurance premium reduction for cameras

If you have cameras operational, ask for a reduction on your house insurance premium and you might get it.
Many insurers have a reduction for a central station connected security system.
I asked and argued that a good camera system is an effective security system.
Got a net premium reduction of around 10% by way of a credit towards premium.
Enough to fund an additional camera, hopefully each year going forward.
YMMV, and it will depend on your insurer.

The most expensive install I’ve done ($350k) back in ‘05 was for a company that made prison doors. They didn’t care about theft, it was strictly for a workman’s comp discount.
