For recovery use the original not the 4 line version of the downgrader.

The patched version of the downgrader that in addition raises the 1-line limit of 'line crossing detection' to a 4 line capability.
Some people have found that the 4-line version has problems on their camera - the original 1-line version can work better.

Hi all. I have the same problem with the firmware for DS-2CD4A35FWD-IZ V5.3.7_151208 (from China)
I accidentally made firmware downgrade (TFTP) to V5.3.0
Also I saw TFTP log:
[2016-06-02 21:53:54] Completedfile[D:\tftp\digicap.dav] transmit
[2016-06-02 21:59:46] TFTP server[192.0.0.128]initialized

But message like "Device[192.0.0.64] system update completed!" did not appear.
I waited about an hour, but the message does not appear
Аfter the restart after 15 minutes i can see the cam in SADP with 192.168.1.64 ip address Soft Ver.: V.4.0.8build 151110,
but web access does not work. I can change ip address in SADP, save it, but after reboot the cam still in SADP with 192.168.1.64 ip address
I tried with different firmware versions, but it still no result. I receive an error when updating (TFTP) "Receive data ACK error"

According instruction i typed in cmd d:/tftp/hiktools digicap.dav
That suggests that either your current directory is not 'tftp' or 'digicap.dav' is not in the tftp directory.
d:
cd /tftp
hiktools05r1 digicap.dav

Oh, and the original '1-line' version is likely to work better.

Thanks. After that I have:

Magic number : 0x484B5753
iHeaderCheckSum : 0x0000CB4F [52047]
iHeadTotalLen : 0x000004E4 [1252]
iFileNum : 0x0000001B [27]
iLanguage : 0x00000002 [2] CN
iDeviceClass : 0x00000002
iOEMCode : 0x00000001
iFirmwareVer : 0xFFFFFFFF
iFeature: 0x01302DF0
Calculated CheckSum : 0x0000CB4F [52047]

According instruction:

An important value to check in the summary of key values is that the ‘magic number’ is ‘0x484B5753’ and that the iLanguage value is 1 or 2 The iHeadTotalLen varies with the number of files in the main section of the firmware update file. The value is 64 bytes plus 44 bytes x (the number of files held in the main section). This can be 108 for NVR firmware that typically has a single CRAMFS image, and 1208 for camera firmware holding 26 files. This should give a reasonable confidence level that the file is in a format that can be decoded. If the results do not match these values – DO NOT PROCEED further.

After that
Can I run hiktools05r1 digicap.dav 1 and upgrade the firmware (TFTP) with these values?

Sorry for my carelessness.

I have tried to change lang in both downgrader firmwares (hiktools lang digicap.dav 1) and updated them,
but TFTP log on both still with error:

Any some ideas?

These entries suggest that the network connection to your camera is unreliable.
Multiple 'connect client' suggests the connection is dropping - data ACK error suggests data corruption during transmission.
By any chance is the camera or PC connected via WiFi? If so - a wired connection would be best.

Have SADP running and periodically refresh it after 'Completed file' has occurred.
After maybe 5 mins for the firmware to be written, power-cycle the camera.
Even with the wrong firmware, SADP would find the camera if it's in the 'min-system recovery mode' with firmware version showing as 4.0.8

My laptop and Camera connected via switch. Only these device plugged in switch. Other network interfaces are disconnected.
I tried with other switches and PCs, but it did not give result.
Can the camera itself be connected to an unsecured network?

ps. the camera has a slot for flash card, button and 4 pin connector
Is it reset button?

Yes it's a reset but, yes to an unsecured network.
How are you powering the camera? As low power can also cause issues.

I connect the camera to the power supply via POE adapter.
But last one, I tried supply it via AC adapter DC 12V 1.5A
Also, I tried connect network via switch and direct to PC.
The result remained the same
