I've read that you cannot skip versions when updating firmware. Would like to update my new cameras with slightly different builds from 5.5.1 to 5.7.1. Is it safe to do this, since the hikvision doesn't list any intermediate versions?
Thanks, Eric

Sometimes you can’t skip firmware versions on Hikvision cameras, most of the time you can.

What camera model do you have?

Hi Eric… I’m not familiar with that model.

Hopefully someone who is will jump in here and help you.

Hi Eric… I took a peek at the Hikvision US website… do you know if you have the PCI-T18F2S series G3 or the PCI-T18F2S(B) series G5?

Here's what the website lists. I have the non-B.

yes that’s what I was just looking at…

it doesn’t make sense to me because the older version is G3 series and the newer version in G5 series… that seems like a mistake on the website to me…

Don’t try to load the newer version unless you are sure!

I recently got an old DS-2A320IW-DE camera and the website has an E7 series firmware listed but I knew it was an R7 series camera… I contacted Hikvision and they confirmed the wrong firmware was listed on the site.
