So, I'm having difficulties setting up the camera. Is it only IE and not edge? I have the NVR5208-8P-4KS2E dvr. I also tried to use the DAHUAWIKI site and the video isn't working for the new UI part.

Thanks for the noobie questions lol.

Yep that camera is very browser sensitive. If you want to track more than 15 seconds, you need to use IE.

However, since you have the NVR, it is easier for you.

To get into the camera GUI from the NVR, you need to first access the NVR GUI by going to a computer and opening up a browser (preferably Internet Explorer but Pale Moon will work as well) and type in the IP address of the NVR and login that way. Next go into the camera settings page on the NVR and look for the Microsoft e Web Browser and select it and it will go to the camera GUI (photo credit bigredfish from his PSA thread). Your screen may look a little different to get into the camera gui and see if doing it this way gets you access to some other features the NVR is blocking - do not worry about the Port number and circle as that was from another issue someone posted.

Simply select the blue IE icon and it will go to the camera GUI and from there you can set the camera parameters.

appreciate the response! I got to the part where you set a parameter and tripwire part. I saved the changes and still haven’t been able to get the camera to track. Guess I’ll research some more in the morning!

You need to set up a preset.

Then you need to set-up the Smart Plan with Deep IVS for the presets you want to track.

Then select the object filters you want.

Then go to Deep IVS Rules Config page and you should see Track Time under alarm and Tracking Target size slider. The target size is what has it zoom in to track - start at 35 and adjust after testing.

When setting up IVS rules, I strongly recommend you use intrusion box with appears and crosses instead of tripwire. And less is more. One IVS rule.

Leave min size as 0,0

Make sure that Motion Detection and Smart Motion Detection are turned off.

I repeat, make sure Motion Detection and Smart Motion Detection are turned off LOL

Hmm I’ll dig around some more. I’ve seen your posts about deep ivs but I don’t think I’ve seen that part. Unless that’s part of the regular ivs settings lol. I’ll take a screenshot in the morning of the settings I see.

I clicked on the explorer icon and it keeps going back to the main screen to login. Doesn't take me to a different site. :(

I’ll probably try that pale site then. See if it gives me different options lol.

EDIT : So it turns out using the windows explorer option for microsoft EDGE doesn't open the site. But using Pale Moon does lol.

It should be taking you to the login screen of the camera and the user/pw would be the same as the NVR unless you specifically changed the camera user/pw.

using pale moon got me to the camera login. Microsoft edge on windows 10 has a Microsoft explorer option but doesn’t work when I click it.

Yeah, you cannot use Edge with the explorer option.

So you are saying you could hit the e icon from the NVR gui and it wouldn't open up e from within the NVR?

Last I tried, Pale Moon wouldn't hold the track time above 15 seconds. So before you do anything, change track time to like 120 seconds and then reboot the camera and see if it is 120 seconds or 15 seconds.

Just tried it. Yes you are correct, wont stay longer than 15 seconds. But I don't know any other website to try to access this page since my edge nor explorer will load it. Maybe I could try firefox.

People have tried every browser - You need Internet Explorer to hold the track time.

Do you have an old computer laying around or know someone with a laptop running an older Windows version.
