So did mine, for several years (on ceramic tile, so very cleanable). We thought it was behavioral. We finally took her to the vet for something else. It turns out she had an infected and inflamed gland on her back end.

A single course of antibiotics, and she hasn't gone on the floor since December.

Maybe worth a shot.

She's 17. The next shot she gets is the fatal kind. My wife keeps telling me to call the vet and get it taken care of, but other than her total disinterest in the litter box she's still fine But then we have another ancient cat puking everywhere, too. Wish it would just die in its sleep one night so I don't have to put another one down.
