SSD for a NVR?

Hi,

I am thinking of putting my NVR (Dahua NVR 4108) in an unheated room in which the temperature can fall down to -15°C (5°F) in the winter. Currently I have a WD Purple hdd in it and thought of exchanging it for a SSD due to temperature concerns.

If I would record 24/7 with 4 cameras I would write around 50 TB/year. Therefore using a 1TB SSD with 360 TBW I should be able to use the SSD for around 7 years and I wouldn't need to worry about the temperature.

Are there any reasons why a SSD shouldn't fit?

Thanks in advance.

SSD's are not designed for that usage, and will most likely fail sooner than later.
Stay with the Purple Drive.
In the winter, put an enclosure over it, that has some insulation, the NVR will produce enough heat that things should be just fine.
If not, add a 10 watt incandescent bulb in the enclosure for a little additional heat. Do it safetly so the bulb doesn't cause a fire.
